There will be none among you but his Lord will talk to him.

Narrated by ‘Adi bin Haatim:

Allah’s Messenger ﷺ  said, “There will be none among you but his Lord will talk to him, and there will be no interpreter between him and Allaah. He will look to his right and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look to his left and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look in front of him and see nothing but the (Hell) Fire facing him. So save yourself from the (Hell) Fire even with half a date (given in charity).” Al-A’mash said: ‘Amr bin Murra said, Khaithama narrated the same and added, ‘..even with a good word.”

‘Dear Niqaab’ – Umm Faaris.

Your pain is mine.  May Allaah reunite you with what you love, and Love you.

Dear Niqaab,

I know that technically you are just a piece of cloth, but to me you’re so much more. You’re a signifier of past nations, honest nations. You’re the dignified hush in a market in Basra. You’re the calm in the world of strong women. I mean who knew a sunnah would cause such controversy, after all it’s just a cloth. A cloth etched with centuries of respect, not subjugation. I know some like to brush your existence under the mat, along with some other Islamic injunctions that just aren’t ‘compatible’. I know that some even use you as a tool to degrade a woman’s will. But still, the shame and alienation associated with your existence isn’t a deterrent. We’ve had some good times. Many awkward situations, but good times nonetheless. You’re not the barrier between me and the world, the real barriers are their prejudices, which they’ve built surrounding their very souls. A fort of empty rhetoric. Come on, we were a great team. We crushed stereotypes on a daily basis. 4 years. We were going steady for 4 whole years. Although, it feels so much shorter when I look back. And it’s not you… or me. Its them. But this isn’t the end. Maybe a glitch in the path. It’s only circumstances that force us apart. Maybe in another world we could be together. But don’t worry I’m on my way to mars.

- Umm Faaris.

Is this not our time?

Ibnul Qayyim al-Jowziyyah:

“When the glorious Qur’aan and the Sunnah are abandoned because it is thought to be insufficient and when human opinions analogy, discretion and the words of scholars are sought, peoples natures are corrupted, their hearts become dark, their understanding becomes distorted. All the previously mentioned matters had a great impact on their lives to the extent that the young and the old lived under these circumstances, thinking them to be allowed. Alternative conditions prevailed, in which innovated matters replaced Prophetic traditions, inclination replaced wisdom, vain desires replaced reason, going astray replaced guidance, the wrong replaced good, ignorance replaced knowledge, hypocrisy replaced devotion, the unlawful replaced the lawful, lying substituted truthfulness, flattery substituted advice, and injustice replaced justice, thus these reigned supreme, and their holders became privileged, despite the prevalence of their opposite in the past, where their holders were the privileged ones. if you see the superiority of such evils, and their slogans are set up where their armies are invading. Surely the bottom of the earth would be much more desirable than its surface! And the peaks of mountains would be more preferable than the plains! And accompanying beasts would be better than accompanying the people!”
